Ice Skating Time Lapse

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2015 was good to you and 2016 is even better πŸ˜€.

Yesterday evening I went down to the ice skating rink at Olympic Plaza here in Calgary. I set up my GoPro Hero 4 Silver on a Joby Gorillapod Focus onto a fence that was guarding some lights the city had set up. Once I framed up my shot and let the shutter go I thought I might shoot some photos, however it was colder than I had anticipated and ended up keeping my hands in my pockets πŸ˜…. Unfortunately I had also forgot my phone in my car, so I couldn’t even do a Periscope or do some Instagraming! However, all that was probably for the best anyhow, because the fence I set up camera up on was a temporary fence and prone to shaking easy if anyone decided to lean on it or anything. So there I stood, keeping guard as if the fence was surrounding some precious treasure haha. I can tell you with certainty that this part of the evening was not fun. Standing around in a 6 foot area by yourself in the freezing cold (trying not look like a weirdo) with no phone or anyone to talk to for over an hour is not a good time. With that said, I am still happy I went down there because I think the time lapse turned out kind of cool. πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by, Rob
