Banff National Park

I shot this photo while heading up the Gondola in Banff National Park. The view from the Gondola ride is amazing and if you ever find your self in Banff it is definitely worth a look! Even if you’re not crazy about mountains, the views will not disappoint.

Random Beach

This is just some random beach I stopped at while cruising around Hawaii. It was a pretty wicked spot and I kind of wish I had hung out a little longer. Maybe next time! πŸ™‚

Where Have I Been?

As you may know from my pervious blog posts, I was recently in Hawaii. As you may also know I haven’t been blogging a ton lately. It was with great surprise that I discovered I haven’t shared any of the photos I shot in Hawaii other than the wedding photos!

My precious Instagram account (@RobMoses) has been taking all my time and attention and left nothing for my poor blog. That is all about to change, well at least I am going to give it a good try haha. First I just need to start with massive game of catch up. I have shot so many photos over the summer and only shared a handful of them here. Moving forward I am going to make the blog more of priority.

Kicking things back off here with a picture my son Cameron enjoying the view from our room in Honolulu.

Hawaii Wedding: Chelsea & Zenon

Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting my sister in-law’s wedding in Hawaii! It was my first time shooting a wedding in that kind of crazy heat and the weather was unpredictable. On the day of the wedding we had a sprinkle of rain before the action started and it was totally cloudy when the ceremony started, but by the end of the ceremony the sky’s had started to clear up! That is some fast changing weather! Good thing it was changing in the right direction.

Since I know Chelsea and Zenon so well already, shooting their wedding was super casual and it was a blast! I always enjoy shooting weddings and all the events that take place, but this one was extra special to me since it was a family affair. Everyone that made the trip was super happy to be there and the whole wedding was beautiful. These types of conditions make getting good pictures a breeze. πŸ™‚

Thanks for the fun times you two!

Congratulations!

Sunburst City

I’m a sucker for a good sunburst and I’ll try toΒ grab one whenever I can. The thing I really love about these pictures is that sunburst is the reflection of the sun off of a pretty cool looking building! If your a city guy (or girl) like me, then that’s what it’s all about ;).

Oh ya, and that dude that’s practicing his karate moves is hilarious! 🀣

Stacey & Benn Back Then

These photos are of Stacey and Benn and I shot them last month. Obviously the lovely couple has already received their photos, but I just couldn’t find the time to get them up here. Anyhow, I had such a good time with these two and even though the weather was being super crazy the night we shot photos everyone still had fun and we got some good shots. The light was constantly changing and the wind was defiantly blowing and that makes for a some what difficult shoot. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, I fun times of the shoot were! πŸ™‚

Minolta City

I was about to toss this old camera in the trash when I I took a look at the mirror after I took the lens off. I thought it looked pretty cool with the little lines and then I though I might be able to get a good photo if I incorporated the mirror of the camera. Since I’m a city guy I thought having part of the city in the background and in the camera would look pretty cool. I like how it turned out πŸ™‚

I shot this photo with a Sony a7R with a Nikon Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 micro.

Apartment Life

I was out for dinner with my wife and her parents at the Calgary Tower a couple weeks ago. I shot this photo with my Canon s120, which is a pretty awesome little point and shoot camera. The picture isn’t perfect, but it gives you a good idea of what that part of town looks like. A lot of apartment buildings over there for sure!

YYC Iron Horse

This cool horse is right in the middle of downtown here in Calgary. It is in this really cool city park that is attached to a train station. I don’t often find myself in this park, but every time I do I take a minute to admire the art.

A couple years ago I took another picture of one of these statues at night. You can see that picture here: Click Me!

Paul

This a friend of mine, Paul. We met up around midnight, downtown in Calgary. The time might seem odd and it is, but for this particular picture it had to be late at night. You see, Paul is standing in the middle of the street at busy (during the day) intersection. I wanted to shoot this photo in this location because the street behind Paul has all these lights on the trees and I thought it would make for a nice/interesting blurry background. The 2nd shot was actually the very first picture I took of Paul that night. I was just shooting it to test the light. To be honest that first test shot is probably my favourite shot of the night haha.

For this shot I used one flash shot into a bounce umbrella to slight camera left. The flashed I used was a Canon 550EZ. I used Yongnuo 622C ii triggers on my Fujifilm X-T1 to fire the flash.

Heck of a Sunset

I was on my way home from a photo shoot last night and I could see a wicked sunset going down. It was a bit late and I wanted to get home, but I knew I would regret not stopping for one last picture. Am I ever glad I stopped, because it was one heck of sunset indeed! πŸ™‚

Blue

This picture has got blue going on every where in it! I shot this photo on Saturday night off a bike path. I used the gorilla pod strapped onto a fence to shoot it. It is such a nice location to grab a seat and enjoy the view. No blue feelings here, just a beautiful blue skyline!

Brittany & Ben

I did an engagement shoot with Brittany & Ben last weekend. The weather was calling for rain and Brittany & Ben are in town from England and were leaving the next day, so rescheduling the shoot wasn’t exactly an option. Lucky for us the rain let up for pretty much the whole shoot. Thanks for that sky! I had so much fun with these two. Many laughs were had and we got some cool shots! Fingers crossed for better weather during the wedding next year, but either way I know we’ll have a good time and get some good pictures :).
