Steam Plant

exif-data-rob-moses-sony-a7-24-70mmThis amazing place is a wonderful restaurant in Spokane, Washington called Steam Plant. The name of the restaurant pretty much says it all. As you have probably guessed, the restaurant was originally a actual steam plant. I love when people take old factories and stuff and turn them into something new.

Well it’s that time of year again that all the hockey fans have been waiting for! The NHL preseason has started the real games are just around the corner. I am sure there are many fun nights in the near future for me in this building.

For the locals, I’m still peeved that Hartley‘s gone, but what are ya gonna do? Hope the Flames have a good year with the new guy.

My son Cameron and I took a walk to the store the other day and on our way there I shot this photo. I think next time I’ll bring a tripod and hop in the picture with him.🙂

I was down at the park with some friends and my family on Friday evening when I took these. My sons were having quite the time on the slide and decided doubling up on the slide might be a fun time. Looks like they were right.😉

Secluded Peace

exif-data-rob-moses-photography-canon-5d-mark-iii-300mm-f2-8-lTaking pictures of a city a night has a special kind of magic to it. I find this especially true when you are in a dark and secluded place like I was for this shot. My location was completely quiet and I was very much alone. Peaceful, relaxing and exciting all at the same time. I love it.🙂

I was downtown yesterday shooting some photos for a client. While I was down there I thought I’d grab a picture for you all too😉. The gigantic head on the right is actually quite big and it is lit up a night. The sun and sun reflection on the blue building make a fun addition to the photo.

Summer Night Selfie

exif-data-rob-moses-canon-5d-mark-iii-ef-300mm-f2-8Not a proper selfie, but I did take this picture of myself🙂. I had been out shooting all night and thought before I packed it in I would jump in on a shot. To get the focus right, I propped my iPhone up on the 2X Extender I had with me with the “notes” app open for the white screen (as seen in the picture bellow). Once the phone was set, I ran back to my camera and auto focused on the phone and then set the lens to manual focus. I did a couple small adjustments, set the 10 second timer and ran back to my pre determined spot which was marked by my keys. I shot this photo about 4 or 5 times and it was easily the most fun I had all night!

New West Wedding Styles

exif-data-rob-moses-canon-7d-10-20mmI have a bunch of wedding photos that I posted to my old blog that shall never see the light of day again. I thought I would grab some of my favourite ones and post them on here from time to time.

I shot this one a while back in New Westminster, BC. The location was one that I often used and is one of my favourite locations in the city of Vancouver. I used one Canon Speedlite (Probably a 550EX) shot through a white umbrella to camera right. I used to shoot a lot more off camera flash back then, something I plan on doing more of these days.

On The Railing

sony-a850-minolta-100mm-f2-8-macro-rob-moses-exif-dataI was out for a walk around the neighbourhood with my son Joshua yesterday evening. I wanted to shoot a photo with my Minolta 100mm lens and I figured I’d find something to shoot a long the way. When we got to the spot in the picture, my son suggested I just take a picture of him. I’m glad he made the suggestion, because I love how the photo turned out.

Cancun Night

rob-mose-exif-data-canon-6d-70-200mmI shot this photo from the balcony of my hotel room in Cancun, Mexico this past winter. Most of the resorts were down the street and around the corner. This area had a more authentic feel to it, which I like. 🇲🇽 😀

Boys 1st Day of School

rob-moses-exif-data-sony-a850-minolta-50mm-1-4Another school year has started for my boys! This is Cameron’s (black sweater) first year at Stanley Jones Elementary. Cam has been looking forward to joining his brother Joshua, who has started the 2nd grade today. I love taking the boys to school on their first day, but this day was extra special since it is Cam’s first day of elementary. Seeing them both off together was really fun and I am looking forward to many more fun days to come.
