Last night my friend Nathan and I took the Skipping Stone Bridge in Calgary with a chain and some steel wool. Nathan had wanted to shoot some of these type of photos for about a year and we finally decided to get out and do it. We would both set up our cameras and get our setting and composition the way we wanted, then Nathan would get in position, light the thing on fire and let er rip! On the first attempt the baking whisk that was holding the steel wool flew off the chain almost immediately and flew over the side of the bridge! haha. Luckily the whisk landed on the shore and not into the river. After a quick retrieval mission, the fun times were back on. ๐
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
Very cool effect. Nice!
Thank you! Merry Christmas ๐๐
Happy Holiday to you as well.
Way cool! I’m tempted to try it, but based on my coordination (or lack thereof), probably best just to admire your work!
Haha thank you! I think youโd do just fine though. If your worried maybe have one of your friends do the swinging like I did ;). Merry Christmas ๐๐
I don’t understand. How do you do that? Wish you had filmed it lol. It’s amazing! โค

It is a great effect. My thought has always been what if the steel wool flings off. ๐
