Edmonton Night

exif-data-rob-moses-canon-5d-mark-iii-70-200mm-f4-isI was up in Edmonton this past weekend visiting some family. I hung out and chatted the evening away, but once it got into the night around 8:30, I had to burn rubber and hit the streets! I love Edmonton and I love some the beautiful views the city has to offer. Here is one of my favourite views of the city, taken from Saskatchewan Drive.

Hello Buildings

I was out for a little bike ride yesterday with my son and I stopped off to shoot this photo. The light hit the buildings quite nicely for a moment there and I like the way it was bouncing around the buildings. πŸ™‚

Rings of Fire

canon 50d tamron 17-50mm vc rob moses exif dataLast night my friend Nathan and I took the Skipping Stone Bridge in Calgary with a chain and some steel wool. Nathan had wanted to shoot some of these type of photos for about a year and we finally decided to get out and do it. We would both set up our cameras and get our setting and composition the way we wanted, then Nathan would get in position, light the thing on fire and let er rip! On the first attempt the baking whisk that was holding the steel wool flew off the chain almost immediately and flew over the side of the bridge! haha. Luckily the whisk landed on the shore and not into the river. After a quick retrieval mission, the fun times were back on. πŸ™‚

The Minion Tourist

rob moses exif data Canon 50D Tamron 17-50mm VCI don’t know about you, but I like these little Minions! This little toy belongs to my son and I thought it would be a fun picture to take as if the Minion was a tourist haha. The 2nd shot of him was from inside my car. The Minion was standing on the edge of the passenger side door and there is a tree with lights behind him.

Buildings Over Here

rob moses exif data Canon 50D Tamron 17-50mm VCI usually shoot photos of Calgary from the other side of town, because I think it looks nicer over there. From time to time I feel the need to shake things up a bit, so I grabbed this shot from the south side on my way home yesterday.

City Night Love

I love the city at night! The lights, the people, cars, trains and whatever else is going on. Being a part of all that happens in a city at night makes me feel alive and there is no where else I’d rather be in that moment.Β Lucky for me, shooting photos of a city at night produces wonderful images. Just another reason to get out there and be apart of the scene. πŸ™‚

Colourful Night

exif data 6D 17-40mm rob moses

I took the streets of the East Village last night. I ended up down by the river on St. Patricks Island to grab this shot of the Skipping Stone Bridge with a very colourful city in the background. The lights on the water look pretty cool too.

Water Like Ice

Canon 6D & 70-200mm f4 IS @ 138mm ~ Settings: f/25 – 25 seconds – ISO 320

The river water in this picture kind of looks like ice. Well not real ice I guess, because when the river is frozen over it doesn’t look anything like this. Maybe I should get a picture of that and show you guys how depressing that scene is haha. Anyhow, these pictures can be fun, try it some time if you already haven’t.

Fall Was Nice

I’d say we had a pretty decent fall here in Calgary this year. The two prior falls I experienced in Calgary were a lot shorter and winter blasted in from out of no where. This year it kind of eased its way into winter and I was able to adapt and mentally prepare for the Eskimo lifestyle I was about to endure. I took this picture a week or so ago, it has since snowed and this time it’s not melting away.

A Seat By The Pond

This spot is a particular favourite of mine in Calgary. The pond is in Princes Island Park and is a nice place to grab a seat and relax. I think theses 2 people would agree that this is the place to be :).

Sunset Over Calgary

I shot this on Tuesday evening off an overpass near my house. The previous day I was driving over said overpass at the exact same time I took this picture. As I crossed the overpass I saw right away what a great shot it could be, so I noted the time and came back the next day. The photo is not exactly how I had pictured it in my mind, butΒ it’s pretty close :).

*Note: If you ever desire to see any of my pictures in a little larger size, I post most of them on my Twitter account in a larger size :). Also, sometimes I just can’t wait to get a picture out there and it might hit Twitter a day a head of here haha. Now I’m not saying go there instead of here, because this is where all the good stuff is haha ;). Just go there if youΒ want to view a shot a little bigger.Β

A Nice Night in Calgary

I went out and shot some photos with a buddy of mine last night. We walked around 17th Ave shooting random things and then made our way to the top of Ramsay to get some city shots. Not a bad picture and it was a nice night to take it :).
