A Colorful Street

While I was roaming the streets of Puerto Vallarta one night I passed by this street. I thought all the colorful flags were a nice touch, so I walked to the end of the street and shot this photo. Puerto Vallarta is such a wonderful little city, I hope to go back again soon!

Stray Cat

I bumped into this stray cat while walking around a random neighbourhood of Puerto Vallarta one day. This cat wasn’t exactly friendly, well he wasn’t not friendly, he just didn’t wander over to me or anything. As I tried to get picture of him he immediately decided to walk off. I kept trying to shoot photos of him as he was leaving and I think you can kind of see it in his face (in the 2nd picture) that he wasn’t to happy about the situation lol. I’m sure he’s laying on a stone path in front of someones house over looking the ocean right now, so I’m sure he got over it. 😉

A Night Down This Street

I shot this photos while walking around Puerto Vallarta one night last week. I didn’t have any plan or specific idea of where I was going, but I just started walking around and looked for a good photo opportunity. I wasn’t even going to bother getting a shot of that church down the street, because I’m certain it has been shot to death. However, while I was walking down this street I took a look back and I thought it looked nice in the background. I really like this picture because it is so far off from the streets I see back home. The scene is wonderful and it is exactly how I remember it looking to me in real life.

Puerto Vallarta Sunset

I shot this photo a couple of days ago on the first night we arrived here in Puerto Vallarta. It was a pretty wicked sunset and I have watched couple other good ones since. I think I am going to try to catch one from down on the beach one of these days too.

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii

When I was in Hawaii last summer I obviously took a trip out to Pearl Harbor. I’m not a big war buff or anything, but it was pretty interesting to see all that stuff. I never saw those big rockets before, they are pretty amazing! I also toured a submarine and a battle ship which was fun to see. The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial (ship that sank) was crazy to be at. Right before you take the tour they show you this little film about what happened. Being out there is really something else and even if you’re not into that kind of thing I think you’d enjoy it.

Well

I was out shooting some photos one night with a friend of mine and I was getting pretty board of the pictures I was taking. I thought I’d just hop in some of the shots to shake things up. 🙂

Oh and by the way, this is in no way an endorsement or anything of that nature to the companies sign I am sitting in front of haha. The sign just kind of matched my shirt, so I sat there.

Random Beach

This is just some random beach I stopped at while cruising around Hawaii. It was a pretty wicked spot and I kind of wish I had hung out a little longer. Maybe next time! 🙂

Penny Boarding Honolulu

My son’s and I brought our Penny Boards to Honolulu and it was the best thing ever. We used those boards everyday and I especially loved it because at night I would skate around taking pictures and I could cover a lot more ground than I would if I was just walking. Anyhow, here are a few pictures of us on the boards.

Honolulu Morning View

This is the view Cameron was looking at in my last post. The view from our room in Honolulu was amazing! I spent a lot time staring out the window at it. I think most people would have wanted a straight view of the beach, but for me this was just perfect! I kind of feel like, if you seen one beach, you’ve seen them all. Sitting at this window with a coffee in the morning provided a lot of new things to see and a very inviting city to draw you into.

Where Have I Been?

As you may know from my pervious blog posts, I was recently in Hawaii. As you may also know I haven’t been blogging a ton lately. It was with great surprise that I discovered I haven’t shared any of the photos I shot in Hawaii other than the wedding photos!

My precious Instagram account (@RobMoses) has been taking all my time and attention and left nothing for my poor blog. That is all about to change, well at least I am going to give it a good try haha. First I just need to start with massive game of catch up. I have shot so many photos over the summer and only shared a handful of them here. Moving forward I am going to make the blog more of priority.

Kicking things back off here with a picture my son Cameron enjoying the view from our room in Honolulu.

Rings of Fire

canon 50d tamron 17-50mm vc rob moses exif dataLast night my friend Nathan and I took the Skipping Stone Bridge in Calgary with a chain and some steel wool. Nathan had wanted to shoot some of these type of photos for about a year and we finally decided to get out and do it. We would both set up our cameras and get our setting and composition the way we wanted, then Nathan would get in position, light the thing on fire and let er rip! On the first attempt the baking whisk that was holding the steel wool flew off the chain almost immediately and flew over the side of the bridge! haha. Luckily the whisk landed on the shore and not into the river. After a quick retrieval mission, the fun times were back on. 🙂

The Minion Tourist

rob moses exif data Canon 50D Tamron 17-50mm VCI don’t know about you, but I like these little Minions! This little toy belongs to my son and I thought it would be a fun picture to take as if the Minion was a tourist haha. The 2nd shot of him was from inside my car. The Minion was standing on the edge of the passenger side door and there is a tree with lights behind him.

Buildings Over Here

rob moses exif data Canon 50D Tamron 17-50mm VCI usually shoot photos of Calgary from the other side of town, because I think it looks nicer over there. From time to time I feel the need to shake things up a bit, so I grabbed this shot from the south side on my way home yesterday.
