I took a little zip down to Penticton BC last night. I wasn’t there to shoot photos, but I thought it would be a shame to not at least try and get one shot while I was down there. I figured something by the beach would be good but it was really dark so I knew I’d need to point the camera at something other than out onto the lake. I also only had a 50mm lens with me, so I landed on this spot. I’m sure this would be a nice summer picture, but the peacefulness of the scene here is nice too.
Shot on a Canon 5D mark iii & Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
I rarely use my 50 mm lens. This photo tells me I should dust it off and give it more love. Beautiful shot, Rob.
Yes you should! 50 is definitely my favourite. I can easily walk around all day with just a 50 and be happy.
Beautiful shot. 50mm lenses are really very versatile. I used a 35mm ƒ/1.4 (50mm equivalent) on my Fuji X-Pro1, and I loved it (I wore out the X-Pro1, Fuji rebuilt it and then I wore it out again). I’m using a 23mm ƒ/2.0 on my X-E1 (40mm equivalent). Although, I still have the 35mm.
Oh nice! Ya if I could only have one lens it would be 50mm for sure. I use that length more than anything.
Thats awesome about your Fuji, sounds like your really getting out there and doing it. Good for you :). I also had a X-Pro1, loved it :). I never had the 35mm 1.4, but wanted it haha. I had the 56mm 1.2 and it was pretty awesome.
I’ll probably give the X-Pro3 a serious look when it comes out.
Yeah I really loved my X-Pro1 when I had it. Such a fun camera to bike around with. I wouldn’t mind that GFX 50R. Us that with some old Mamiya lenses, that’d probably be pretty wicked.
It has a wicked price tag as well.
Haha for sure!
Beautiful moment. I love the winter shore.
Thanks buddy, ya it’s a different look for sure 🙂
This is a great shot of Penticton on a January night. 🙂
Thank you very much!
