More Buildings & Lights

The Calgary skyline is forever changing. There is a new building going up that is beside the bright one in the middle that is going to be awesome. The new building kind of turns as it goes up. I’m sure that’s going to be a wonderful building to get ultra wide angle shots of. There is also another big project going on near the bottom of the photo where the bright light is. I’m not sure what’s happening, but they got what looks like the beginning of a band shell or something along those lines. Whatever it is they are doing down there I’m sure it’s going to be great! I can’t wait to see it when it’s done, I’ll probably have to bust out the ol fisheye for that one. πŸ˜‰

Once Upon a View

I shot this photo out of the kitchen window of anΒ abandoned house. It’s crazy to think that one day a very long time ago some one stood here doing dishes and looked out to the side of their beautiful new house with pride and joy. And now this, a barley standing shell of what it once was. The roof just barely hanging on and dipping down into the rubble of forgotten time.

Out in These Streets

I was out kicking around Calgary last night shooting some photos. It wasn’t a particularly nice night for it, because the sky was rather dark, but there were people out and the atmosphere of the city made up for the dark skies. I met 4 different people and we all followed each other on Instagram. The first picture is one of those people. Big up to everyone down to meet someone new on the city streets at night. πŸ™‚

Random Beach

This is just some random beach I stopped at while cruising around Hawaii. It was a pretty wicked spot and I kind of wish I had hung out a little longer. Maybe next time! πŸ™‚

Biking in Edmonton (Video)

My friend Nathan and I took a little road trip up to Edmonton to shoot some photos and take in the sights on our bikes. I shot a little video along the way πŸ™‚

Climbing For Pictures

I shot this photo from kind of a weird spot. I was on the side of a busy off ramp from a bridge with no walking or biking path. I just climbed up the hill from under the bridge and shot my photos from the side of the street. Thankfully there is a barer between the side of the hill and the cars, so it wasn’t to wild. Anyhow, I like spots like this because it is a view people don’t constantly see everyday, unless they drive over this bridge all the time or find themselves climbing around the sides of over passes πŸ™‚

Big Orange Bridge in Nelson

I spent last weekend in Nelson, BC. I didn’t get out to shoot photos as much as I would have liked, but I did get out one night to take this picture of the Big Orange Bridge. The moonlight was especially bright and it really added something special to the picture. I shot about 5 different angles before landing at this one. Once I saw this shot on my LCD, I knew it wasn’t going to get any better than that.

Apartment Life

I was out for dinner with my wife and her parents at the Calgary Tower a couple weeks ago. I shot this photo with my Canon s120, which is a pretty awesome little point and shoot camera. The picture isn’t perfect, but it gives you a good idea of what that part of town looks like. A lot of apartment buildings over there for sure!

YYC Iron Horse

This cool horse is right in the middle of downtown here in Calgary. It is in this really cool city park that is attached to a train station. I don’t often find myself in this park, but every time I do I take a minute to admire the art.

A couple years ago I took another picture of one of these statues at night. You can see that picture here: Click Me!

Heck of a Sunset

I was on my way home from a photo shoot last night and I could see a wicked sunset going down. It was a bit late and I wanted to get home, but I knew I would regret not stopping for one last picture. Am I ever glad I stopped, because it was one heck of sunset indeed! πŸ™‚

Blue

This picture has got blue going on every where in it! I shot this photo on Saturday night off a bike path. I used the gorilla pod strapped onto a fence to shoot it. It is such a nice location to grab a seat and enjoy the view. No blue feelings here, just a beautiful blue skyline!

High Bridge in Spokane

I was kicking around Browns Addition in Spokane one day last fall and found this nice view over looking High Bridge Park. One look at the picture I took and you can guess as to how they came up with the name haha. Although the park name may be simple, it is definitely accurate because that is one super high bridge!

Bike Path View

I went out for a little evening bike ride the other night. I made a quick stop and shot this photo of the nice view of the city I was enjoying while riding by. There are definitely better views from other parts of the path, but this is one bit that probably doesn’t get shot a ton since your right in front of the buildings.
