Where Did Summer Go?

Whenever winter rolls around in Calgary I always feel like I didn’t get out enough during the summer. I take a look through the photos I shot and think, what the hell was I doing all summer? I do have a decent amount of photos I can use if I don’t feel like going outside to freeze, but I now that’s it’s cold out I can’t help but think I was missing out in August. Ah well, there’s always next year! Here’s a sunset from this past summer.

Abandoned Cancun

Well now that it’s all cold out around Calgary I am going to have to start digging through my files for photos haha. I know I should be getting out there, but I’m just not fired up about freezing my butt off in the snow. Anyhow, I took this picture last year in Cancun, Mexico. Some abandoned mall across the street from some beautiful hotels! I’m not sure what happened, but it looked like it used to be a pretty good little spot. Ah well, out with old I suppose.

East Village Sunset

I took this picture in the summer and kind of forgot about it. I was riding around on my bike trying to find a good spot to get a shot of the sunset and I knew I was in a now or never type situation. So I burned down a narrow path to the riverside and shot this photo just in the nick of time! 🙂

Down The Alley

I shot this photo this past summer in Nelson, BC Canada. The twinkle lights on the deck make a wonderful atmosphere and Nelson has some great alley views. This alley is probably my favourite because I love brick and the rolling street down this alley looks cool to me. The lights over the deck are from a restaurant that is in the brick building to the left. I’m not sure if the food is any good, but I am certain if you got a good seat on that deck your going to enjoy the ambience.

Random Beach

This is just some random beach I stopped at while cruising around Hawaii. It was a pretty wicked spot and I kind of wish I had hung out a little longer. Maybe next time! 🙂

Urban Honolulu Night

The city of Honolulu looks amazing at night! The view from the apartment we rented was especially amazing after the sun went down. I kind of wish I lived in a an apartment so I could get a wicked city view like this, but when you got two crazy little boys that love to run out the door every 5 minutes it’s not really ideal. Maybe one day though ;).

Penny Boarding Honolulu

My son’s and I brought our Penny Boards to Honolulu and it was the best thing ever. We used those boards everyday and I especially loved it because at night I would skate around taking pictures and I could cover a lot more ground than I would if I was just walking. Anyhow, here are a few pictures of us on the boards.

Honolulu Morning View

This is the view Cameron was looking at in my last post. The view from our room in Honolulu was amazing! I spent a lot time staring out the window at it. I think most people would have wanted a straight view of the beach, but for me this was just perfect! I kind of feel like, if you seen one beach, you’ve seen them all. Sitting at this window with a coffee in the morning provided a lot of new things to see and a very inviting city to draw you into.

Where Have I Been?

As you may know from my pervious blog posts, I was recently in Hawaii. As you may also know I haven’t been blogging a ton lately. It was with great surprise that I discovered I haven’t shared any of the photos I shot in Hawaii other than the wedding photos!

My precious Instagram account (@RobMoses) has been taking all my time and attention and left nothing for my poor blog. That is all about to change, well at least I am going to give it a good try haha. First I just need to start with massive game of catch up. I have shot so many photos over the summer and only shared a handful of them here. Moving forward I am going to make the blog more of priority.

Kicking things back off here with a picture my son Cameron enjoying the view from our room in Honolulu.

Climbing For Pictures

I shot this photo from kind of a weird spot. I was on the side of a busy off ramp from a bridge with no walking or biking path. I just climbed up the hill from under the bridge and shot my photos from the side of the street. Thankfully there is a barer between the side of the hill and the cars, so it wasn’t to wild. Anyhow, I like spots like this because it is a view people don’t constantly see everyday, unless they drive over this bridge all the time or find themselves climbing around the sides of over passes 🙂

Sunburst City

I’m a sucker for a good sunburst and I’ll try to grab one whenever I can. The thing I really love about these pictures is that sunburst is the reflection of the sun off of a pretty cool looking building! If your a city guy (or girl) like me, then that’s what it’s all about ;).

Oh ya, and that dude that’s practicing his karate moves is hilarious! 🤣

Big Orange Bridge in Nelson

I spent last weekend in Nelson, BC. I didn’t get out to shoot photos as much as I would have liked, but I did get out one night to take this picture of the Big Orange Bridge. The moonlight was especially bright and it really added something special to the picture. I shot about 5 different angles before landing at this one. Once I saw this shot on my LCD, I knew it wasn’t going to get any better than that.

YYC Iron Horse

This cool horse is right in the middle of downtown here in Calgary. It is in this really cool city park that is attached to a train station. I don’t often find myself in this park, but every time I do I take a minute to admire the art.

A couple years ago I took another picture of one of these statues at night. You can see that picture here: Click Me!
