Okanagan Lake Sunset

I took a look out my front window the other evening and it looked like the sunset might be good. Since I live 3 and half blocks from the beach I though it couldn’t hurt to zip down by the water and see if I could get any good pictures.

I was under exposing for these shots in the hopes to add some mood and create some darker images with a full colour sky. I think I achieved this objective in the pictures and I am happy with them. I find I tend to make my pictures on the bright side and I have been wanting to explore different ways of shooting and editing my photos.

I will try some more of this darker style here and there, but for some reason I just like my images to be bright. Maybe some where in between would be best.

Photos shot with a Sony a7R & Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 ii (via metabones)

Thanks for stopping by, Rob

  1. I am so happy you are back to blogging! These photos are gorgeous! Now if I can get myself in gear and get back to it, I have found it to be a huge struggle this year, maybe next I will feel more motivation 🙂 Always enjoy your photos Rob!

    • Thank you Deborah! And yes I know the struggle you feel. I am just forcing myself to get back into a routine, because once your there it’s all easy again, it’s just getting that little kick start that’s the hardest part haha. Hope you get rocking and rolling again 🙂

    • Thank you so much~! I figure there is so much beauty around here I should really take advantage and start shooting more of that kind of thing. Plus this is jus down the street from my house so that makes life really easy LOL.
