While I was in Banff last weekend I saw this massive wild elk just walking down the street! I quickly pulled over, jumped out of my car and ran over with my camera. A small crown quickly gathered, everyone with their cameras and phones out. These girls were right beside me and started taking selfies, so I grabbed a couple pictures of them haha. I showed them the picture after and they laughed. I’m not sure how their selfies turned out, but this one was a keeper!

I get that close to wild animals every day, even close enough for them to eat right out of my hand! We have squirrels in our yard. 😉

Fabulous fabulous fabulous! I can’t believe, even in the face of something so extraordinary, people will decide to focus on themselves (literally and figuratively) rather than actually looking at what is going on around them. This sort of photo is the type that you look at years later and realise you’ve forgotten what the actual event was, even if the animal got properly into the picture.
hahaha Now that is a beautiful capture of a photographic zeitgeist. Well done!
fantastic photo Rob 🙂 often seen photos of Elk wandering the streets of Banff, but the times I have been to this beautiful town I’ve only seen them in the surrounding countryside.
