Calgary 1st

Camera: Nikon D300s & 70-210mm f/4-5.6D at 210mm ~ Settings: f/9 – 1/250th – ISO 800

I shot this photos the other day on my way home from work. It is a look down 1st Street SW downtown in Calgary. These types of pictures are always fun for me, because I love the city and watching people buzzing around. The picture has a nice mix of different types of architecture and a few little things here and there that hold my attention, so I enjoy looking at it. I hope you do too!

Thanks for stopping by, Rob

  1. I love how you captured the vibrant colors, but also how your eye draws you into the center with the horizontal line. I wanted to see what those buildings were in the distance. Very nice. I am not a photographer, but being an artist, I appreciate the keen eye that can see the perfect shot.

  2. What direction is that looking, Rob? Is there a date that you could catch the sun rising or setting at the end of the street? I’ve tried to find a spot like that in Edmonton, but Jasper Ave is too curvy.
