Fave Apartment Building

This is my favourite apartment building in Calgary. A wonderful example of pre-war one architecture that is very hard to come by in this modern city.

  1. Rob, that’s the Anderson building on 18th Ave SW, Right? I understand it used to be a hotel. That’s the street I live on and my fave building too – I’ve taken many pictures of it and I even got to see the inside once, hard wood floors, high ceilings and cupboards. I would love to live there!

      1. You would absolutely love this city, Rob! It’s a photographer’s paradise! I am going to post more pics of Chicago on my blog; in fact, you’ve given me some inspiration to post some photos of our “Chicago 3-flat” or, “Chicago 2-flat” buildings. Have you heard of the painter, “Kathleen Eaton?” She is from Illinois and paints pictures of these buildings.

Here, check it out if you don’t mind:

      2. You know it’s interesting, Rob, as I hadn’t heard of her either until a few years ago. She’s from just outside of Chicago. Her work is actually at one of our airports (huge murals). At first, I actually wasn’t sure about her work; and then, all of a sudden, I loved it! *LOL* Go figure. Yes, the “After the Snow” is awesome! She doesn’t paint people in her work. We bought one of her prints and I asked her about this. She said she didn’t feel she could paint people as well as she’d like to; however, I bet she could!! Cher xo
