In the more touristy areas of Mexican vacation destination cities it can sometimes feel like your talking around in the US rather than Mexico. This I found especially true in Playa Del Carmen. Now don’t get me wrong, I love the United States, but when I’m in Mexico I like to feel like I’m in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta has long been a favourite destination for my family and I. While my wife and kids spend most of their time at the resort and doing whatever touristy stuff they like to do, I like to wander off into the more authentic areas of the city. I still spend a lot of time with my family, but I make a point of it to take a walk down some random streets and areas of town just to get a feel for what the city really looks like away from the waterfront and hotels. To be honest these pictures are not all that far from the waterfront, but just far enough to start to get a feel of what real Mexican beauty lies beyond the strip.
I had wondered up into this area alone one day and I loved it. A few days latter I dragged my wife and kids up here so they could see it for them selves. I really is beautiful.
