With a scene like this I think most people would think to shoot this photo wide and I understand why, but I thought shooting it with a longer focal length might look good too. I’m happy with how the picture turned out, maybe next time I’ll see what I get with a wide-angle.

Nice cures, very interesting perspective. I like how you used the reflection off the water it illuminate the under side of the bridge. That really works well.
Thank you Phil! Glad you like the picture 🙂
I think it was a wise choice going in a bit tighter. Love the lines leading the viewer into the shot. Nice one, Rob!
Thanks Mike! 🙂
I think the choice was good: you’ve emphasized the underside of the bridge almost directly above you, and that helps emphasize the curves of the bridge. You’ve also balanced the bridge supports against the skyscraper on the right side of the image. I think it’s a wonderful shot.
Well thank you Dan! 🙂
Wow! Nice choice! One thing I LOVE about your blog, as a photo-newbie, is how willing you are to mention your choices. Thanks, much, Rob!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the little commentary 🙂
Fascinating mixture of shapes. Clear and crisp pic too.
Thanks for stopping in 😉
I really like the way this has emphasised the flowing curve of the bridge and the compositional balance with the skyscraper works a treat.
So sorry for the insanely slow reply haha. Your comment must have got lost in the mix. Anyhow, thank you about the picture and thank you for stopping by.
