In early September I had the exciting experience of my first photo shoot using my Pentax 6×7 medium format film camera. I had been waiting on this day for a very long time so my excitement was through the roof. My brother in-law Robert was helping me out by modelling for me. I decided to film a little video along the way. I pretty much say it all in the video so if you’re curious about my thoughts on the pictures or would just like to see how I shot them, give that video a watch. The video will be found at the bottom of this post.
All photos shot with a Pentax 6×7 & 105mm f/2.4
with Fujifilm Pro 400H 120 film
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
https://www.richardphotolab.com/blog/post/common-film-scan-issues-and-what-you-can-do-about-them–Rob, scroll down to the bottom of this website where he talks about ‘light leaks’–light getting into your camera. I hope this is helpful. The other shots turned out great.
I’m pretty sure its not light leaks getting into the camera as the 2nd roll did not have it show up until the last pics and it was in a completely different spot.
And I shot almost all the photos in the same vertical position. So if it was camera light leaks I think it would have been at the very least on the same side of the picture.
Hmm-mm. Sorry this was not help. That is strange, then. I hope you find out what is causing it.
I do appreciate you trying to help out though! But ya, it’s so strange how it just showed up mid roll on the first one, then near the end on the last one.
What made you decide to go with film in the first place?
If you look at the 4th picture in the blog post, he kind of pops out of the picture with almost a 3D effect. That’s the reason I wanted to shoot with this specific camera and lens combo. They don’t make digital medium format with a sensor any were close to this size, so it had to be film. That example isn’t the best example of what I’m talking about, but I’m working on it 😉
Gotcha. Love the bokeh and overall “feel” of the images.
Me too! Thanks pal 😉
