Ever wonder just how much abuse a camera lens can take before scratches will start to show up? I use UV filters, mainly for protection and I was wondering this exact question so I decided to put a lens to the test. I tried “cleaning” the lens with a few different things. I shook the lens around in a camera bag with all kinds of stuff and found out just how robust these things are.

I’ll forewarn you, I had major technical difficulties while filming this video. I explain everything in the video ;).

One thing I forgot to mention in the video is at the end of the test I put everything I had in the camera bag and shook it around with the lens to see how it would do. I kind of alluded to that in the video with footage, but I figured I’d just point it right out here.
