A few days ago my son Cameron and I were on a bike ride and we dipped into this wooded area to do a little photo location scouting. We found this spot, but at first nothing came to me, I just knew I loved the location. After I gave it some more though later that night I came up with this. The location was so peaceful and I thought having my son Joshua sitting there by the creek reading a book would be perfect.
I am super happy with how these photos turned out as they were pretty much exactly as I had envisioned them. I shot a couple photos with more depth of field so you could see more of the surrounding woods and creek, but those shots just didn’t have the same kind of pop I was looking for that I got with the shallower images. I only added one of those photos (second picture) so you could hopefully kind of see what I’m talking about. Anyhow, I’m sure I’ll use this location again because this little photo shoot really worked out.
Camera: Sony a7R & Canon FD 55mm f/1.2
Flash: One Godox AD200 set to 1/8th shot into a 75″ umbrella
Thanks for stopping by, Rob

You do such fab work, Rob! You’re amazing. AND whoa… very time I come by the boys are bigger. Isn’t Cameron the younger one?
Well, he sure looks like you, now!
Thank you so much Resa! And yes Cameron is the younger one, but this is Joshua in the pictures 🙂 But ya the kids are getting big now for sure. Joshua is about the size of his mom now lol.
Good grief! So, soon he will be your size.
Wishing you and your boys the best back to school experience.
Haha no kidding hey! Thanks 😉
