Newfound Beach

I knew I had to take my dog for a walk and I kind of wanted to get the kids out of the house for a little bit too. However I was not about to just take everyone walking around the neighbourhood as we usually do because noticed a lot more people walking down the street than normally (probably due to the warm weather). The idea of this beach popped into my head. I had found it by looking at google maps satellite view one day when looking for photo spots. I wasn’t sure if there was a regular path there or what, but it looked like a nice place for a walk and since the access didn’t look exactly convenient I figured it might be pretty quiet and that is exactly what we were after.

As we drove down to the access point of the beach we had to drive by our local neighbourhood beaches. I was a little surprised that one of the beaches had a decent amount of people at it. The parking lot wasn’t full, but it was far from empty! I hope people around here don’t think we’ve already beat this virus, because haven’t. Anyhow, we pulled up to our spot and found the path we needed to follow. It wasn’t really a straight up path, but more of a trail along this riverbank. Following the riverbank trail reminded me of a scene from a movie, it was fun and beautiful and the moment that only I was probably taking in was nice.

Once we made it around the corner this big beautiful sandy beach was there waiting for us and there wasn’t another person in sight! The kids ran off with the dog and I followed along. We walked around and enjoyed the fresh air and sun. These moments are few and far between these days as we are trying to stay indoors as much as possible, so as they happen I try to enjoy them as much as I can.

Funny thing about me is I probably enjoy these times more once they are over because I turn back to my pictures and I probably remember the moments just a little better than they were. 😉

  1. Juneau is getting so big! They have closed the beaches and the parks so we are walking the neighborhood–trying to look for different streets to go down for a change of scenery. Take care, Rob.
