So I’m picking up a leaf in this picture, but it was totally set up haha. Also, I was not planning on getting in front of the camera that day, so wardrobe was given zero thought.
I prefocused using my manual focus Nikon Ai 50mm f/1.8 using a spot in the sand as an estimation of where I’d be standing. I rested my camera on a little ledge by the beach, set a 10 second timer, walked over and picked up the leaf just as the shutter went off. I shot this photo a couple more times, but this first frame was the best one and it was more legitimate as I didn’t know I was going to pick up that leaf until I got in front of the camera and saw it. The first frame seems to be the best one more of then than not for some reason.
Camera: Sony a7R & Nikon Ai 50mm f/1.8
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
Cool spontaneous “decisive moment” self portrait.
