Even though I shot this photo at about 11:30pm the city is bright. I love the bright lights of a city at night and no other place makes me as happy or comfortable. I’m a city guy and love every bit of it :).
Question: Not sure if any of you noticed or not, but I started using this little graffic rather than typing out my exif data. What are your thoughts on that? Do you like this or the old way better? Or does it even matter to anyone? haha. Because it would be a lot easier to just not do either one.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
Beautiful !
Thanks Paul!
I love cities, love the country, love the burbs. 🙂 I have had the opportunity to live in each. Great shot! I like the new graphic. Did you use a tripod for this shot?
Thank you very much for your response regarding the exif data. And yes I used a tripod with a 30 second exposure :).
Wow…Nice shot. I really like city photography as well. I only look at exif data on occasion, if I am curious about how an image was made. Either version works…I don’t include it myself. Cheers
Well thank you for your input! It’s actually a pain to add the exif data, but I have just been putting it there for the benefit of people who are just starting out and might want to know what settings were used for the shots. Oh and thanks about the photo :).
I know that not many read the EXIF but I do ………. this way is nice, I think it’s a matter of getting use to it
Thank you for your input Nelson. I am always a little curious about the exif data my self too :). Seems like people like this way. Well from the few that have answered anyhow haha.
I like the exif. Did you screen capture it from Flickr?
Oh good :). Yes that is exactly what I did! It’s kind of a pain because I have to upload the picture to flickr first now, but I kind of like the look of it. However, having the type in the post is probably better for SEO and google bots. I lean the graphic just because I think it looks nicer.
I always upload my photos to Flickr first anyway, then use a utility to move them from there to my smugmug site. So that’s how I recognized the graphic. You could still put the exif in as text in a tiny font at the bottom of your post perhaps.
Oh I see :). Yes that’s not a bad idea. Maybe I’ll try it if I feel like I got some extra time.
I like the graphic! It caught my attention immediately! I like it! I love this photo too! I’m always amazed how bright the downtown lights are! It is this way in Tulsa, OK. Wonderful post! 🙂
Thank you very much Michelle! I’m glad you like the graphic, because I do too haha. I hope I can make my way to Tulsa one of these days. It looks really nice there!
Oh it is a wonderful city! One of the cleanest! I moved here in 1987 and never wanted to live anywhere else! Little bit of everything to do! I love downtowns too! You guys seem to have so many large buildings I love that! 😀
I noticed the graphic the first time you used it and while I like the look it has made your posts very slow to load. I may be the only person on WP with the slow speed I have to endure, but finding the exif data in the post is just as good.
Hmmm that is strange Bunty. The file size of that little graphic is only 25 KB, while the adverage picture size I use is around 5 to 600 and sometimes around 800 KB. So it seems unlikely that would be the reason for a slow load. This particular post is a rather large picture though, so that may load slower than the average :). Anyhow, thank you very much for your input!
Gorgeous photo, Rob! Love the Calgary tower top left and how clear the logos on the buildings show up. ❤
Diana xo
Thanks Diana!
Great photo.
Thank you.
There’s something magical about the city as day and night cross over and city lights are on. Beautiful.
Agreed! Thank you 🙂
I noticed! Very nice ! Like it
Oh nice! Thanks 🙂
gorgeous!
Thank you! 🙂
I like the graphical depiction of the EXIF data.
Thank you for your input Doug :).
