On my way home from a lovely evening spent and at an Italian restaurant downtown last night, I noticed the moon look pretty clear. As soon as I got home I quickly got my gear together and ran back out the door. I think I would have got a better shot if I was about an hour and a half earlier. Maybe I will actually plan my next moon shot out haha.
I shot this photo with a Canon FL 500mm f/5.6 with a 2X Vivitar Tele Converter on a Sony NEX-7 mirrorless camera. The total focal length with set up is a whooping 1500mm! As I was shooting the photo you could actually watch the moon moving across the frame! I never seen anything like it. As I was trying to focus I was mesmerized but the movement, it was an amazing thing to see. The shot could be a little better, but I am happy with my first attempt.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
Beautiful. Awesome shot, Rob!
Thank you Karen! ๐
What an awesome picture, Rob! I tried to get a photo of the moon as well last night when I was out biking, but alas, my cheap camera made it look like a tiny egg yolk. ๐ฆ
Haha “tiny egg yolk” LOL, that’s funny. Thank you about my picture! Ya it takes quite the lens to get a half decent shot of that thing ;).
So fantastic! Pip
Thanks! ๐
Yup! Fantastic shot!!
Thank you! ๐
Very sick! .. If you know what I mean… Or am I showing my age?
Great shot! ๐

This is beautiful, Rob. You would so laugh if you saw my attempts to capture the moon. Sad, sad….
Haha thank you. I’m sure you pictures are good! It does take quite the lens to get close though.
Really an excellent shot, Rob. Great details.
Thank you!
