The Moon

Aperture f/22

Aperture f/22

On my way home from a lovely evening spent and at an Italian restaurant downtown last night, I noticed the moon look pretty clear. As soon as I got home I quickly got my gear together and ran back out the door. I think I would have got a better shot if I was about an hour and a half earlier. Maybe I will actually plan my next moon shot out haha.

I shot this photo with a Canon FL 500mm f/5.6 with a 2X Vivitar Tele Converter on a Sony NEX-7 mirrorless camera. The total focal length with set up is a whooping 1500mm! As I was shooting the photo you could actually watch the moon moving across the frame! I never seen anything like it. As I was trying to focus I was mesmerized but the movement, it was an amazing thing to see. The shot could be a little better, but I am happy with my first attempt.

Thanks for stopping by, Rob

  1. What an awesome picture, Rob! I tried to get a photo of the moon as well last night when I was out biking, but alas, my cheap camera made it look like a tiny egg yolk. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
