So there I was scrolling through Instagram and minding my own business. I’m having a little look at the mornings “stories” when an ad comes up, “Buy me a coffee” it says. Cheers to that I say as I’m currently drinking my morning coffee at that exact moment. I’m a coffee drinker, so they already got me just a bit. To be completely honest with you I cant even remember exactly what the ad said, but it was intriguing enough for me to want to find out more, so I swipped up.

I quickly realized that “Buy me a coffee” was pretty much Patreon but simpler to use and less fees. Now I had zero intentions of signing up for Patreon and I had never even heard of Buy me a coffee, well wait I had heard of it, but I didn’t fully get it because I wasn’t looking to add that type of service to what I do. But I was there, I was on the site and it all seemed so easy. The next thing I know I was signing up and it was easy! Now will anything come of this? I don’t know and I honestly don’t even really care haha. I just kind of singed up on a whim because it didn’t cost me anything and their brilliant marketing got me! 🤣

Maybe there is something there that will be of value to you. As the name says you can toss me a few bucks to buy me a coffee, sign up for a membership for members only this and that and there are “extras” where you can purchase custom photo commissions, one on one zoom calls and things like that. It’s an interesting platform and we’ll see if anything becomes of it. I’ll keep you guys posted on how it goes.
