PDX Corner

Just the corner of a random street in Portland. These pictures are from quite awhile ago. I was just passing by here one day and snapped the shots without much thought. I came across the pictures on my computer this morning and figured I’d share them. 🙂

I love old buildings

I love old buildings like this! This one is located on 23rd Ave in Portland, Oregon. 23rd is a wonderful street with a lot of great shops, restaurants and all that good city stuff. I’d imagine the apartments in this building are amazing and walking out onto a wonderful city street like 23rd would be to die for! Maybe one day ;).

Portland Vlogs

I took a trip down to Portland last weekend and shot a little video of my trip. I met up with an old friend of mine from Vancouver and my brother in-law. If I was on my own I probably would have daily vlogged the trip, but when your with friends you can’t just be filming the whole time or you won’t have time to visit haha.

Hey Guy!

Here is another Fujifilm X-T2 straight out of camera shot (no edits). This guy was parked here and taking pictures looking the other direction. I wanted to get a picture with his face in it, so I yelled “Hey Guy!” haha. Judging by the direction of his eyes he must have thought it was someone else yelling at him. 🤣

Fujifilm JPEG in Portland

I have been hearing about how amazing the Fujifilm jpegs are for sometime now. I decided it might be time to give Fuji a closer look and see if the photos lived up to the hype. I had been planning on heading back down to Portland to hang out for a few days and I thought why not take a Fujifilm X-T2 with me to see how it handles. First off, the camera was a joy to use and the 16-55mm f/2.8 and 56mm f/1.2 I was using were amazing! Both lenses were super sharp and created and pleasing bokeh. Anyhow, I am not doing a full review on any of the gear, but I will be posting some pictures over the next couple weeks that I took with the Fuji setup. I will only be posting straight out of camera jpegs, because the cameras filters and in camera edit style settings is what has really attracted me to the camera itself. So here’s the first one of many to come. I don’t think this is the best shot I got with the camera, but it’s one I like :).

TriMet to the Bridge

rob-moses-exif-data-settings-canon-6d-50mm-1-4I had just walked across this bridge in Portland and saw the train coming up. One quick shot later and I had this picture. If I had a little more time to think I probably would have shot this with a slower shutter speed to show some movement in the train. I guess I’ll have to wait till next time to have another go at it.

The 2nd photo is just shot I took of myself while I was taking pictures off the top of this parking garage. 🙂

Street Shooting The Pearl

canon-6d-50mm-exif-data-rob-mosesI found myself walking down the street in the Pearl District of Portland and did a little street shooting. The color of this building really stood out to me so I held down the corner for a couple of minutes so I could get a person in my shot. This cool looking girl came around just in time :).

Scarves & Flowers

exif-data-rob-moses-canon-6d-50mm-1-4I was kicking around Esther Short Park in Vancouver, Washington one day when I noticed the statue of the old guy was wearing this beautiful knitted scarf. Although it did look a little odd with his iron suit, I thought it was wonderful. And to top it off, this nice little statue girl was giving him a real flower. Was a good day in the park for these two I’d say. 😉

Buildings PDX

exif data rob moses canon 6d 70-200mm f4 ISRandom buildings in Portland, Oregon. I like pictures where the entire frame is filled with buildings. This one would have been better if there was a little wind to get that flag flying, oh well I still like the picture. 🙂

Portland’s Red Baron

rob moses exif data canon 6d 50mm 1.4I saw this kid burning around Portland on his (non-hovering) hoverboard. He looked like he was having quite the time! While he was waiting for the light to change he just kept spinning and moving back and forth. He was doing all of this while downing what looked to be a tasty Starbucks drink haha. Good times I’m sure. 🙂

TriMet

exif data rob moses canon 6d 17-40mmThe public transit in Portland, Oregon is great! I’m the type who prefers the train over driving, so the public transportation system in Portland is greatly appreciated by myself and other like minded people. Pictured here is TriMet train #235 making its way around the city.
