I shot this photo around 12:30am Victoria, BC. I always enjoy going out and shooting photos late at night. There’s usually minimal people around the city is quiet. Don’t get me wrong, I love shooting at 9pm too when there are people everywhere, but the two times are totally different experiences.
When I lived in Victoria 20 years ago I used to hang out down here in Chinatown all the time. I’d eat here, shop here, I took Kung-fu lessons here and I just always felt comfortable down here. The people in this part of town are so great and I just love the atmosphere.
The night I was here you could hear pin drop and I had all the time in the world to stand in the middle of the street and shoot this photo. The hanging lights are just perfect and I’m glad I decided to stop by my old hang out for a picture.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
You don’t sleep, do you? 😃
Haha not as much as I should.
If I go to downtown Austin around dawn on a Sunday morning, I mostly have the city to myself to stand around and shoot.
Nice! Austin looks awesome. I hope I can make my way down there one day.
Don’t come in August, it’s an oven.
Haha yeah same with here. Was like 105-113 this summer here in Kelowna. Just brutal heat here in summer.
Gorgeous, Rob!
Thank you!
