Flames vs Rangers

Last night I went to the hockey game (as I often do). The Calgary Flames were hosting the New York Rangers and this time I decided I’d try to bring a camera along. I didn’t want to bring a proper DSLR with a big white lens that screamsย “HEY LOOK AT ME! I’M TAKING PICTURES!” lol. So I grabbed my Samsung NX100 Mirrorless with a 18-200mm OIS lens. I got to cap off a few shots during the first period, but then during the 2nd some one that works for the Saddledome (Flames Arena) came and told me I couldn’t take pictures with a camera that had interchangeable lenses. I kind of knew even that camera would be a problem, but figured it was wroth a try :).

These Ironmen

I was hanging out with my 2 little buddies today and it’s been raining out, so we were stuck inside. At first I was just taking pictures of these Ironman masks, then I thought I’d get these guys to help me out for a minute and put them on for me. I’m glad I did, because this picture turned out much better than the other ones I was shooting. I think it’s the eyes in the mask that make the difference. Make the picture more interesting I suppose.

The Worlds Saddest Playground Toys

I was out with the family today and ended up at this park. It was there I came across the worlds 2 saddest playground toys. Upon arriving my 2 year old son ran over to these old spring loaded riding Duck & Frog’s. He took one look at the frog and said “He’s sad” haha. I asked him why and he told me the foggy needed water ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a Samsung NX100 mirrorless camera that takes really great pictures, especially of people. I also own some great old 70’s era Canon FDย manual focus lenses from the film days. So I bought a FD to NX converter to use my Canon FD lenses on my NX100. The converter came in the mail today and I took a couple test shots with it. I am very happy with the results so far and will do some more shooting with it once the weather improves around here. Here are a few samples from the camera and lens combo.
