Colorful Alley

Just a random shot of a colorful alley in Sandpoint, Idaho. I was just walking around this little town one day when I was passing through and thought the alley looked pretty cool. It’s probably a little bright for your typical alley shot, but I thought it worked because of all the color.

Coeur d’Alene Sunset

exif data rob moses a7r 55mm sonyThis sunset looks particularly crazy because when I shot the photo there was some massive forest fires burning in the area. The entire region was covered in smoke and Coeur d’Alene was right in the thick of it. The smoke provided quite the hazy looking sunset, so for the shot it actually helped my situation. Of course forest fires are bad, but at least you can pull something positive from them if you try.

U.S. Mail

rob moses exif data canon 5d 24-70mm 2.8I shot this photo down on the east side of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 2012. The photo never made it up here back then for some reason, so I thought better late than never ;). I took this picture with my trusty old original Canon 5D (on its 2nd shutter) and 24-70mm f/2.8 L. It was a wonderful set up back then and I still believe it to be a capable set up today.

Candid Michelle

This is a candid shot I took of my wife Michelle while we were in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho this past summer. Michelle doesn’t really seem to like any pictures of herself (this one included, but I’m posting it anyhow haha) and isn’t to keen on posing. When I took this shot she was looking at that sign in front of her and I was coming up behind her. I just stopped had my camera in my face and ready to go and said “Michelle”, when she turned I took the picture haha. The auto focus is a little slow on that Sony a7R, so I didn’t get her completely off guard, but at least I got a picture of her. 😉

NY Jets Helmet

rob moses 6d 50mm exif data canon

I have recently been working on a little DIY project and this helmet is the finished product. While I was down in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho this summer I found this old football helmet at a random thrift store I wondered into. For a measly $10 I thought why not pick it up and see what I could do with it. At first I wanted to make it into a Seattle Seahawks helmet, but no matter how hard I tried I could not find any proper Seahawks decals. Since the Jets are my 2nd favourite NFL team and I was able to source some decals via ebay ($36), I decided that was the way I would go. The cage was originally grey, so I bought a $10 can of spray paint and gave it a couple of coats. The helmet also had some stickers on the back that were extremely hard to get off, but once I got them off I slapped on the Jets stickers, put the cage back on and wa-la! Not a perfect replica by any means, but good enough to sit on a shelf in my office. 🙂

Oh and incase you were wondering, no I did not get a before picture. Totally wish I did :(. Darn it!

I shot this photo with one 580EX ii, shot through a white umbrella to camera right.
