A Downtown View

I shot this one from Tom Campbell Park by my house in Calgary. I don’t live to far from this place and on my way home one night last summer I decided to stop by and shoot a photo with my 300mm. Earlier in the night I was out with a friend of mine shooting some photos a lot farther away from the city, I thought I might stop off here and see what kind of results I got a little closer in. Not a bad shot, but then again it’s pretty easy to get a decent shot from Tom Campell Park.

Enjoy The Sunset

exif-data-canon-5d-classic-ef-85mm-1-8I was out one day for a walk the park and was enjoying the sunset. I walked up on this couple who were taking it all in with a front row seat. That feather in the guys cap caught my eye and I thought putting the sun right between them would be perfect. I like how the sun looks in the picture and I love how it looked in person.

Edmonton Night

exif-data-rob-moses-canon-5d-mark-iii-70-200mm-f4-isI was up in Edmonton this past weekend visiting some family. I hung out and chatted the evening away, but once it got into the night around 8:30, I had to burn rubber and hit the streets! I love Edmonton and I love some the beautiful views the city has to offer. Here is one of my favourite views of the city, taken from Saskatchewan Drive.

Banff Springs

rob moses exif data canon 5d mark iii 50mmThis is the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Canada. It is pretty magnificent sitting on the side of this mountain and equality amazing inside. I love old buildings like this and wish there was more of them around here. Although, having this one sitting pretty much alone in the middle of this massive landscape does look pretty cool.

A Friends Camera

rob moses exif data canon 6d 70-200mm f4 isI was out shooting the skyline with a friend of mine over the weekend when this idea popped into my head. At first I shot this photo at f4 and slowly made my way to f14. At f4 you couldn’t tell what was in front of the camera, but here in this shot I think it’s a little more clear :).

U.S. Mail

rob moses exif data canon 5d 24-70mm 2.8I shot this photo down on the east side of Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 2012. The photo never made it up here back then for some reason, so I thought better late than never ;). I took this picture with my trusty old original Canon 5D (on its 2nd shutter) and 24-70mm f/2.8 L. It was a wonderful set up back then and I still believe it to be a capable set up today.

Frosty Climb City

exif data Canon 5D mark iii 70-200mm Rob MosesI had to climb a pretty big fence for this shot. I had driven by this location a long time ago and thought I might be able to get a good shot if I was to climb up the fence. I just happen to be driving near that location again today and I thought with all the frost on the trees and the clear sky, it might be worth trying out. I’m glad I made the stop, because I love a picture with buildings mountains together :).

If you check out this link by around 11:30am on Sunday you can watch the Periscope video of me climbing haha. Climbing Periscope Video

Downtown Vancouver

Camera: Canon 5D & 50mm 1.4 ~ Settings: f/9 – 1/50th – ISO 1000

I shot this photo about 5 years ago in Vancouver, BC Canada, back when I was still living there. I have been getting gathering some of my favourite photos to put together a page to sell prints. This particular shot is still one of my favourite and I have it framed and hanging in my house :).

Joshua & I

Camera: Canon 5D & 24-70L @ 64mm ~ Settings: f/2.8 – 1/160th – ISO 100

This picture is an insane 3 years old. I can’t even believe that. Time is just FLYING! This is one of my favourite pictures of my son Joshua and I and I never posted it here. I had the camera set up on a tripod at the end of the bridge and had it set on a 10 second timer. The bridge we are on was destroyed in during the 2013 flood. I’m not sure if they got a new bridge up there yet or not, I’ll take a look next time I’m in that neighbourhood.

Seattle Aquarium

I bumped into this photo in my files the other day and realized I never posted it here! So I thought why not put it up now :). It’s kind of a random picture, but I like it some how (probably because the building says “Seattle” on it and LOVE Seattle haha).

Seattle at Night

These are couple shots I took in Seattle that I really like. I shot them last year from Kerry Park in Queen Anne (my favourite neighbourhood). If you ever make your way to Seattle, a stop at Kerry Park is a must. You can see the whole city, ocean and mountains from there. If you have small children a trip to Kerry Park can be fun for them too, as there is a playground just down the hill from the view point.

I shot this photo of the Calgary skyline lastnight. I showed up a little early and ended up having to wait close to 2 hours for the shot haha. I’m happy with the outcome though. The photo is a 5 frame HDR.
