Abarth

As some of you know I was thinking about buying one of these cars this past winter (see post about that here). I was looking and looking and not one came up for sale where I live. So I ended up buying the Mini Cooper instead. The Mini Cooper is a great car and I was really enjoying driving it, but for some reason I just could not get the Fiat 500 Abarth out of my head.

Alas this red Abarth came up for sale a couple towns over from me and I just couldn’t help myself. I went down and picked up the day after they listed it and it’s sitting my garage right now. So far I’m loving the car and I actually just took it on its first road trip to Vancouver and Bellingham, Washington a few days ago. I just got home last night. The car was a joy to dive and I am definitely happy I decided to buy the car. Now I just gotta figure out what the heck I’m gonna do with that Mini.

Oh and about this photo. My wife had an appointment in Vancouver the day before yesterday and I had the day to myself. I figured I hadn’t been to Bellingham in a while so I figured it might be fun to zip down there for the day and take a look around. I was actually just heading back up to Vancouver when I saw these cool murals. So I hopped out of the car shot a few photos and headed back up north. Fun day!

Thanks for stopping by, Rob

  1. So good to see you back here, Rob, and with such a fun post! My next-door neighbor has a Mini Cooper and I think it is the cutest car. But this little Fiat…really cute!

    • Hey Lois! Yes I gotta get back in the swing of things here. But geez luweez it’s been SOOOO HOT here these days it’s hard to get out. It’s been around 100 for weeks and only getting hotter this weekend. I was only able to get out for that picture because I went to Washington state where it’s cooler haha. But ya, thanks about the car! I’m so happy with it so far. And ya the Mini’s are great and I really do like my Mini, but this one is just more unique and kinda more my style. I just like weird little cars and this one is just perfect for me haha.

    • Hey Deborah, yes I am going to sell the Mini. My oldest son who will be driving soon is 6’1″ so I think the Mini might be too small for him. Plus that particular Mini has been modified and has lots power and I don’t think it’d be a good idea to give a 16 year old a car with that much power.

      • He might need a larger car. My cousin bought a Subaru that was modified and has lots of power. She got it at a very good price since the owner wanted to sell it fast before relocating. Most definitely, you don’t want to give a 16 year old a powerful car.
