I shot this photo back in December. This spot on Bernard street is so perfect for street photos. There are lots of lights and the old Paramount sign down the street makes for an interesting background whether it’s blurry or sharp. I like Blurry, so there ya go haha. Maybe I’ll go shoot a sharp one another time just to see how it is. I have a feeling it will feel busy even if the street is empty. I guess you can let me know when I post the photo.

The Paramount, down the street, movie theater, somewhere that can have a show or concert, or both? Paramount had a chain of theaters, across the USA and Canada to show movies, large to host live theater and music. Most were built in the 1910s,about a third to a half still have their large Wurlitzer organs that would play when movies were silent. Denver still has its Paramount Theater. Gorgeous place inside. Each of the Paramount Theaters still around are individually owned.
Yes I see the Paramount signs in a lot of places and I always love them. This is probably my favourite sign in town. Sadly the theatre itself has turned into something quite sad. I mean, there is no theatre to speak of. There is now a bad coffee & donut shop called Tim Hortons (Basically a Canadian Dunkin’ Donuts) there now. I’ll shot some photos of that place for you one of these days.
I see the Tim Horton’s sign on the marquee. I can’t even remember when the last time I was in a Dunkin’s. All I remember is whispering to my sister, Elizabeth, to hurry up and buy her donut and let’s go. The lemon-filled donut was fine. Everything else just gave me the shivers.
Hahaha yes that is exactly the vibe of this particular Tim Hortons. I was sitting in there a few weeks ago alone just having a coffee break on my walk to the library and there was no shortage of interesting people hanging around there. At one point I saw a drug deal go down one table away from me and I decided I had seen enough and got out of there lol.
