I don’t have a clue what this duck is doing. Maybe he was just keeping his beak warm? Anyhow, I saw him sitting there on this rock and I walked over and got incredibly close to him to shoot this photo. I honestly could have reached out and grabbed him if I wanted, but I doing think he would have appreciated that haha. I was using an old Nikon 85mm f/1.8 manual focus lens and for this instance it was just perfect.
