2010 Seattle

I was poking around some old pictures of mine the other day and I came across this one. I shot it back in 2010 from West Seattle. It’s not the entire skyline, but it’s a nice little bit of it. I miss living in the Pacific North West, because you can actually get out during the winter and not freezing to death haha.

Waiting for the Times

exif data Canon 6D 17-40mm Rob Moses

This is a really random shot I snapped while walking down the street in Port Townsend, Washington with my son last year. He wasn’t actually waiting for anything, just climbing around like kids do :).

Prints

I finally decided to put together a little prints page! It’s easy and straight forward to use so if you ever feel like spending some money, head to Prints.RobMoses.com ;).

You can order prints for framing in a lustre finish semi-gloss paper with vibrant colors in the following sizes: 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, 11×14. If you want a canvas you can order beautiful Hand-Crafted premium gallery wraps made with strong 1-1/2” deep poplar frames & UV protected laminate that protects & enhances. The gallery wraps are available in: 16×24, 20×30, and 24×36.

The gallery is a little Calgary heavy at the moment, but I will be adding new photos all the time. I just gotta take a zip through my external hard drive and see what else I have on there that might interest people.

A Couple Seattle Mariners

Some of you may recall a photo I shot of Cammy this summer with this hat and shirt. This is the same shoot! I just hopped in on a picture with him and this was it :).

Happy Cammy

Yesterday I decided it was a good day to take a picture of my younger son Cammy. He is always a good sport when it comes to getting his picture taken, so this shot didn’t take to long :).

The picture on the right just shows the set up I used for this photo. I had a Canon 580EX ii Speedlite shooting into that white bounce umbrella. I was using that heavy Manfrotto tripod instead of a light stand so the wind wouldn’t tip the set up over (I have had that happen before). I triggered the flash with Yongnuo YN-622C transmitters.

Seattle Aquarium

I bumped into this photo in my files the other day and realized I never posted it here! So I thought why not put it up now :). It’s kind of a random picture, but I like it some how (probably because the building says “Seattle” on it and LOVE Seattle haha).

Filmless Fun

My son and I took at walk down to 7 Eleven yesterday evening to grab a couple Slurpees and I had my camera with me. While we were leaving my son Joshua decided he would take his camera with him too :). He shot a lot of photos while we were walking, however his camera is a film camera and it had no film haha. The lack of film didn’t stop him from taking a lot of pictures and having a good time, that’s what it’s all about! Good times.

Skateboard Selfie!

I’m taking it back to the old school here with this dorky skateboarding self-portrait I shot yesterday haha. I had 2 flashes set up for this shot. I had one 580ex ii on camera left about the hight of the top stair pointing up and another on camera right about shoulder height. I trigged the camera with a Canon RC-1 remote, which is in my right hand pointing at the camera :).

Zoom Zoom City of Seattle

The only reason I’m posting this picture is because that fire truck says “City of Seattle” on the side of it and I love Seattle! haha. When I took this I was walking out of an art supply store and saw zooming by. I quickly threw my camera in front of my face and snapped this shot. Not much to it really, but I got what I needed from it :).

Seattle’s Capitol Hill

I find pictures like this with lots of little building windows in it looks best big, they seem to have a tendency to look pixelated when viewed so small like this. I was surfing some Seattle posts on WordPress this morning and it started to make me miss the city, so I went through some old pictures and found this one from 2010. It is the wonderful neighbourhood of Capitol Hill in Seattle Washington. Amazing views of the city for loads of people living in these apartments! Wish I was in one of them ;).

Selfie in Seattle

I think these pictures are close to 2 years old. I was down by the water in Seattle at Piers 62 & 63 taking some pictures. For whatever reason I decided this would be a good opportunity to snap a little Selfie action :). Both of these pictures were shot with a 5D & 24-70L wide open.

These City Boys

I was looking for a file that had some wedding photos in it this morning and I came across these pictures from a day we spend downtown. I think it might have been Canada Day. Anyhow, I thought I’d share them here for the heck of it 🙂

Let’s Get Personal

Calgary famous Starbucks coffee cup mug ipad keyboard bokeh dof shallow city skyline saddledome - Rob Moses Photography - Canadian American PhotographerCamera: Samsung NX100 with Canon FD 50mm 1.4 – Setting: 1/800th // f1.4 // ISO 100

I suppose this will be a rather personal post, as there is really no other reason I could think to post this picture haha. This is the coffee cup I start almost all of my mornings with. It’s a Calgary Starbucks cup! I LOVE Starbucks and am also a long time fan of their coffee cups. I lean towards this one most often because it’s a Calgary cup and that’s where I live right now :). Behind the cup is my iPad 3. I spend a lot of time using that for WordPress, email, Facebook, reading magazines and general surfing if I don’t feel like sitting at my computer. I guess that’s all for now, thanks for stopping by.
