If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you probably already know I bought a new van recently. If not, then ta-daaa! haha. This is my new to me 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia addition. The funny thing is I already have a 87 Westfalia van that I have been working on. I’ve been doing some body work on that one for a while. This new one is in much better condition and is way closer to where I want I too be then the one I already had in my garage, so I am happy about that.
I actually wasn’t even looking for a new van. I was just over at my friends house one day to borrow his welder (to weld some things on my van) and he mentioned to me that he was going to sell his van. I asked him how much he was thinking and the price range sounded good to me. Fast forward a bit of time and here I am driving around his van! haha Funny how things like that happen.
The best part about this van is it has a Subaru engine in it! The engine is from a Subaru Legacy with only 135,000 KM on it. This engine makes the van a lot more powerful and just as important, more reliable! The engine was the main thing that drew me to this van and I am super happy to be driving this now.
Now about the picture! I shot this with one strobe to camera left as the key light with a round head on it. I had another flash to camera right set on a lower setting. I shot the photo with my Sony a7R & 70-200mm F4 OSS at 141mm. I think the picture turned out pretty good and I am happy with out it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
Are you still working on the other one? You collect vans like you collect cameras! 😆
haha yes I am. I am just going to finish up the projects I started and sell it.
Congratulations, Rob.
Thank you David!
