This hotel in Victoria, British Columbia is outstanding! I love old buildings and this one does not disappoint. Normally I would have shot photos of this place a little wider than the 35mm I was shooting, but I only brought my Fujifilm x100T (with a fixed 35mm lens) with me to Victoria so 35 was all I had. That is one of the things I actually like about the Fuji x100 cameras is the fixed 35mm lens (it’s actually 23mm, but is a 35mm full frame equivalent). When all you got is 35mm you just have to make due with what you have. The truth is I would never grab 35 over 50 or 28, but I enjoy using the x100T so when I got that 35 is the best there is. 😉
The last picture is just the corner beside the hotel. Nothing special, but I like the all the lights haha.
Thanks for stopping by, Rob
What a beauty! We have nothing like that here–only brand new Marriotts.
yeah such a nice building hey. We don’t got anything like that in Kelowna either. Just new buildings here.
Impressive images of the Empress! So good!
Thank you so much Carlos!
Beautiful building.
Right! I love old buildings like that so much.
This looks fabulous. Is it one of the old CNR or CPR hotels that dot our Canadian cities?
We have The Royal York in Toronto.
I actually have no idea about the history of this hotel. But that wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case.
What an architectural gem!
For sure hey! 🙂
